Guest Speaker Reactions: Cameron Moll
Cameron Moll is a web designer living in Utah. Chances are if you work with the web, you have seen his work, heard him speak, or heard of him. Our class was very lucky to have the opportunity to interview him via Skype. For about 45 minutes we got to pick the brain of a famous web designer, asking him about what makes his work so popular to his suggestions for the students’ future. Be sure to listen to the audio. Thank you Cameron for giving of your time so freely.

Hi Sawyer, I’m glad you are finding them useful and that our guest speakers keep allowing me to post the audio. What does your high school web program look like?
My high school actually doesn’t offer a web program or anything close to it. It is very unfortunate. I am only self-taught, and have only become proficient in CSS and HTML while gaining enough knowledge to build solid Wordpress themes. If I had to hand-code PHP I wouldn’t be able to do it.
P.S. This is off topic, but the preview option on this site’s comments doesn’t seem to work for me (I’m running Firefox 3).
Cameron is amazing. Very talented but also seems genuinely down to earth. I hope to one day be half as good as him.

Very cool. As a senior in high school and someone who is very interested in pursuing a career in web development, presentations like these that are directed to students like me are very hard to come by and rare. I can definitely connect to the question of “Should I be a designer or developer?”
What you are doing is awesome and I wish there were more classes like yours at the high school level. I hope you continue to post your guest’s presentations for students and web enthusiasts like myself.
